Revere pewter is undoubtedly one of the most popular gray paint colors. However, it is deceiving. A lot of people think they are getting a pretty standard gray when they pick it. However, they’re not. Revere pewter has a subtle grayish undertone that means there’s a little bit of beige in it which makes it feel like a warmer softer kind of a muddy kind of gray color. It also has a subtle green undertone that sometimes you don’t notice until you got two coats on the wall. You will find it even more obvious if you have yellow oak cabinets or cherry floors anything with a strong warm undertone yellow, red, orange. Maybe you have a red couch it’s got a warm undertone. It’s risking bringing in that green. Opposites attract they make each other stronger. You will want to avoid that Revere pewter works really great for most rooms at a home. As long as they are well lit a dark room, a dark hallway, find Revere pewter can be a little bit muddy, a little bit heavy feeling. In that case you can actually get it lightened super easy. Start at 25% find that just tweaks the color it’s not a drastic change. If that doesn’t work you might go up to 40%, if almost there go to 50. You won’t go any lighter than 50% of the original at that point. You just need to pick a new color.
